Purpose of the Internship Program:

 

The Nutmeg Institute internship program is intended provide college students in Film, Television, Media, Communications, Event-Coordination, and other related fields looking to kick-start their career. The program offers various paths through which to gain relevant experience and a greater understanding of the media industry.

 

Who are we looking for?

 

We are looking for smart, goal-oriented students who can get the job done. We look for strong skills in time management, research, multi-tasking, communication (written and in-person), and attention-to-detail. As a new organization we are also looking for entrepreneurial-minded students looking to leave their mark on and help grow an up-and-coming company.

 

Overview: Under the supervision of Nutmeg Institute’s executive team interns will assist in the day-to-day management of a content, event, and education management organization

 

Responsibilities may include:

  • Assist with Nutmeg Institute promotion and networking

  • Act as a brand ambassador at local film-related events

  • Craft engaging blog and social media content

  • Develop content planning calendars for social media campaigns on a weekly and monthly basis

  • Perform research on local businesses and industry-related organization in order to target new partnerships

  • Work with partners and sponsors to create engaging posts based on their brand messages

  • Assist with event management including planning and execution of event, coordination and marketing, and on-site set-up

  • Work as a production assistant on set of film productions

 

Intern will gain and/or improve skills in the following areas:

  • Interpersonal communication skills including but not limited to interactions with workshop guests, sponsors & partners, local film industry participants, and other officials

  • Learning how to properly plan and execute an event such as an international filmmaking competition, local film festival(s), networking events, and workshops and panels

  • On-set filmmaking responsibilities via several web-series currently in pre-production

  • Content research and generation along with the planning, design, and execution of Marketing and Social Media Campaigns
